As a lifelong student of the horse, I began my journey through the world of all things equine at a very early age. Growing up with an education in classic dressage afforded me the opportunity to understand physical dynamics and emotional fitness necessary for connecting with horses on a spiritual level.
In 2003 I began the career of a lifetime. I started with exploring various books and videos by equine hoof care Masters, completing an internship with a certified farrier and in 2007 began the process of becoming a certified Applied Equine Podiatrist.
I was one of two students selected for a full scholarship at the International Institute of Applied Equine Podiatry and successfully completed the program in October, 2007.
Since that time I have attended multiple clinics and Hands-On training opportunities with various hoof care professionals such as Dr. Esco Buff, and Daisy Bicking. Recognizing that equine psychology and handling techniques are crucial for success, I sought out horse trainers who have a special way with horses.
It has been an honor to learn directly from iconic equine trainers Pat Parelli, Mark Rashid and Brent Graef. These clinics have been challenging and thought-provoking, extraordinary and life-changing.
Often I hear from horse owners that past farriers have been unable to work with a particular horse because of behavioral and training deficits. Part of my job is helping you and your horse to become a team with your hoof care professional.
When lameness strikes your equine partner, it can be scary and overwhelming. Knowing where to start on the journey to soundness is a complicated task for even the most experienced horse owner. Over the years I have built a career around helping owners with complicated lameness issues such as laminitis, founder, navicular disease, Limb length disparity and osteoarthritis.
Since leaving the corporate world for good in 2012, life has been filled with horses and farm life. I enjoy lots of riding time on the trails, milking dairy cattle and raising purebred Dogo Argentino dogs.
